a new field poll, take a look, shows 43% of californians disapprove of mr. obama's job performance. that's an increase from 35% in july. nbc bay area political analyst larry gersten joins us. larry, is this a cause for democrats to be concerned even here in california? >> they may not say so, but yeah, they are concerned on several fronts. look, to begin with, the president lost support among key constituencies. take a look at the growing ranks of disapproval. these are pretty important. women up to 40% from 27% a few months ago. latinos, 34% disapproving compared to 18%. union households, up to 43% from 25% a few months ago. these were major pillars of the democratic coalition in 2012, and they are abandoning ship. >> usually here in california, we're kind of our own island, but is the disapproval kind of similar now across the country? are we reflecting that is. >> yeah, it is around the country. you wouldn't expect it here, you know, but why here above all places? blue california. well, major disappointments in key policy areas such as immigration. really a key issue here. and un
